Race Morning CheckList

Race Morning Checklist

Show up calm. Ride with confidence.

Race mornings come early—and they can feel stressful if you’re not prepared.

The difference between a chaotic start and a confident one? Planning ahead.

Lay everything out the day before so you’re not scrambling, forgetting key items, or making rushed decisions when it matters most.

This checklist is designed to help you show up ready—for Village Gravel or any race you’re taking on.

  • Jersey

  • Bibs

  • Gloves

  • Base layer

  • Arm/knee warmers

  • Socks

  • Sports bra

  • Rain jacket / wind vest

Tip: Lay this out in order the night before. Race morning should feel automatic.

Don’t overlook the basics—this is where small mistakes happen.

  • Helmet

  • Sunglasses

  • Cycling shoes

  • Heart rate monitor

  • Lights (if needed)

  • Cycling computer (charged + route loaded)

  • Fuel (solids / gels)

  • Bottles

  • Hydration pack (if needed)

  • Post-race recovery shake

Tip: Prep everything the night before. Grab-and-go only.

The small things matter more than you think.

  • Flat repair kit

Tip: Keep everything in one bag so nothing gets left behind.

Race Morning Mindset

Race morning isn’t where fitness is built—it’s where confidence shows up.

When you prepare ahead of time, you remove stress, stay focused, and give yourself the best chance to ride well—and enjoy the experience.

Show up ready. Ride with intention. Have fun.
